CONDITIONS

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes Superior Propane, to handle, offer for transport or transport, and authorizes any person to handle, offer for transport or transport, by road vehicle, dangerous goods included in Class 2, Gases, in a cylinder, in a manner that does not comply with subparagraph 5.10(1)(a)(i) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, if:

(a) subject to condition (b) of this certificate, the requirements of National Standard of Canada CAN/CSA B340-02, entitled "Selection and Use of Cylinder, Spheres, Tubes, and Other Containers for the Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Class 2", October 2002, as amended in January 2004 and February 2005 are complied with;

(b) subject to conditions (c) and (d) of this certificate, before being filled, cylinders due for requalification are requalified in accordance with the requirements of National Standard of Canada CAN/CSA B339-02, entitled "Cylinder, Spheres, and Tubes for the Transportation of Dangerous Goods", October 2002, as amended in November 2003 and February 2005, cited in the rest of this certificate as CAN/CSA B339-02;

(c) each cylinder is requalified in accordance with the conditions specified in Certificate of Registration No. ASD 4067-26-9-1375 issued to the certificate holder pursuant to Clause 25 of CAN/CSA-B339-02 by the Director, Regulatory Affairs Branch, Transport Dangerous Goods Directorate, Transport Canada;

CONDITIONS

(d) subject to conditions (e) and (f) of this certificate, despite the requirements of Clause 24.6.1.1 of CAN/CSA B339-02 with respect to the placement of markings, following requalification, the prescribed markings on each cylinder are legibly marked by stamping on a new metal plate permanently secured to the valve-protection collar of the cylinder by riveting;

(e) the cylinder manufacturer's serial number is reproduced by stamping on the metal plate; and

(f) the size of the stamp marking characters are not less than 6 mm in height.

Note: The issuance of this Equivalency Certificate in no way reduces the certificate holder's responsibility to comply with any other requirements of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations not specifically addressed in this certificate.

Explanatory Note

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes the certificate holder to display the marks prescribed for cylinder requalification in a manner that is not permitted by the applicable specification. Cylinders requalified in accordance with this certificate are marked on a new metal plate that is permanently attached to the valve-protection collar of the cylinders by riveting. Equivalent safety is maintained by ensuring that the markings are permanent and traceable to the requalification facility (certificate holder).
