This Equivalency Certificate authorizes Solvay Fluorides, L.L.C., to handle, offer for transport or transport, by road or railway vehicle, or by ship on a domestic voyage, dangerous goods that are UN1080, SULFUR HEXAFLUORIDE, Class 2.2, in ton containers and in a manner that does not comply with

clause of the Transport Canada Standard TP14877, "Containers for Transport of Dangerous Goods by Rail, a Transport Canada Standard", December 2013, as incorporated by reference in section 5.5 and subparagraphs 5.10(1)(a)(vi), 5.10(1)(b)(ii), and 5.10(1)(d)(ii) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, if:

(a) the ton containers conform to specification 110A1000W;

(b) the ton containers are filled to a maximum filling density of 104 per cent;

(c) in addition to the requirements of Part 6 (Training) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the certificate holder ensures that the personnel handling, offering for transport or transporting the dangerous goods is trained in regards to the conditions of this Equivalency Certificate;

(d) the shipping document that accompanies the dangerous goods includes the following information legibly and indelibly printed:

"Equivalency Certificate No. SU 7919 (Ren. 6)"

Note: The issuance of this Equivalency Certificate in no way reduces the certificate holder's responsibility to comply with any other requirements of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, and the Canadian Aviation Regulationsnot specifically addressed in this certificate.

Explanatory Note

Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) has a critical temperature that is less than the reference fill temperature for 1% outage as specified in TP14877. Since it is physically impossible for SF6 to meet this criterion, an alternate quantifiable filling limit is provided.
