CONDITIONS

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes the members of Responsible Distribution Canada, to handle, offer for transport or transport, and authorizes any person to handle or transport on behalf of the members of Responsible Distribution Canada, by road or railway vehicle, dangerous goods that are Gases, Class 2.2, Class 2.2(8), Class 2.3, Class 2.3(8), and Class 2.3(5.1)(8) in a manner that does not comply with section 4.15 (Dangerous Goods Safety Marks) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, if:

(a) the dangerous goods are transported in a DOT106A500X specification container that has displayed on it:

(i) a label with the primary classification on two opposite ends,

(ii) a label with the subsidiary classification on two opposite ends, and

(iii) the UN number and the shipping name of the dangerous goods, in stencil, visibly and legibly marked, on opposite sides;

(b) Responsible Distribution Canada ensures that a paper or electronic copy of this Equivalency Certificate is provided to all members;

(c) in addition to the requirements of Part 6 (Training) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the members of Responsible Distribution Canada ensure that the personnel handling, offering for transport or transporting the dangerous goods is trained in regards to the conditions of this Equivalency Certificate;

(d) the shipping document that accompanies the dangerous goods includes the following information legibly and indelibly printed:

"Equivalency Certificate No. SU 6582 (Ren. 9)"

Note: The issuance of this Equivalency Certificate in no way reduces the certificate holder's responsibility to comply with any other requirements of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, and the Canadian Aviation Regulationsnot specifically addressed in this certificate.
