CONDITIONS

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestryto handle and transport by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestryowned or small commercially leased aircraft, as defined in Part 1 of the Canadian Aviation Regulations, and operated under Part VII of the Canadian Aviation Regulations, dangerous goods that are UN0012, CARTRIDGES FOR WEAPONS, INERT PROJECTILE; or CARTRIDGES, SMALL ARMS, Class 1.4S, Packing Group II, UN1950, AEROSOLS, flammable, containing substances in Class 6.1, Packing Group II, Class 2.1(6.1), or UN1950,AEROSOLS, non-flammable, containing substances in Class 6.1, Packing Group II, Class 2.2(6.1), in a manner that does not comply with the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air, as incorporated by reference in paragraph 12.1(2) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, under the following conditions:

(a) for UN0012, CARTRIDGES FOR WEAPONS, INERT PROJECTILE; or CARTRIDGES, SMALL ARMS, Class 1.4S, Packing Group II:

(i) the maximum quantity of dangerous goods per officer is 5 kg,

CONDITIONS

(ii) the dangerous goods not contained in a loaded "agency firearm" as defined in the Public Agents Firearms Regulations are placed in an inner means of containment that is a box, in metal or plastic clips or in partitions (including magazine) to protect the primers from accidental activation, and are secured so that under normal conditions of transport, including handling, there will be no accidental release of the dangerous goods that could endanger public safety,

(iii)the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has received an exemption to carry a loaded firearm under the Canadian Aviation Security Regulations;

(b) for UN1950, AEROSOLS, flammable, containing substances in Class 6.1, Packing Group II, Class 2.1(6.1), or UN1950, AEROSOLS, non-flammable, containing substances in Class 6.1, Packing Group II, Class 2.2(6.1):

(i) the quantity of dangerous goods per aerosol container is less than or equal to 400 ml,

(ii) the aerosol container has two means of protection against actuation, is carried in a case that has a protective cover or hermetically sealed in a container especially designed for this purpose and is transported in checked baggage that is not accessible during flight;

(c) the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry employee notifies the air operator of the presence of the dangerous goods, and how they are carried; and

CONDITIONS

(d) the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry officers carry a copy of this Equivalency Certificate on each flight.

Note: The issuance of this Equivalency Certificate in no way reduces the certificate holder's responsibility to comply with any other requirements of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, and the Canadian Aviation Regulations not specifically addressed in this certificate.
