CONDITIONS

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes Orica Canada Inc., to handle, offer for transport or transport, by road vehicle, domestic consignments of dangerous goods that are UN0065, Cord, Detonating, flexible, Class 1.1D, Packing Group II, in a manner that does not comply with Special Packing Provision PP71 as set out under Column VII of Table 6.1 of the standard CGSB-43.151-2012, "Packaging, handling, offering for transport and transport of Explosives (Class 1)", October 2012, and incorporated by reference in section 5.8 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, if:

(a) the dangerous goods are not for sale;

(b) the dangerous goods are packaged in accordance with the design described by Design Registration Number 2-0996 in accordance with Transport Canada Standard TP14850E, "Small Containers for Transport of Dangerous Goods, Classes 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8, and 9, a Transport Canada Standard", 2nd Edition, October 2010;

(c) each package is marked, with the following information:

"Packaged in accordance with Transport Canada Dangerous Goods Certificate SH 4848"; and,

CONDITIONS

(d) the shipping document that accompanies the dangerous goods includes the following information legibly and indelibly printed:

"Equivalency Certificate No. SH 4848 (Ren. 11)"

Note: The issuance of this Equivalency Certificate in no way reduces the certificate holder's responsibility to comply with any other requirements of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, and the Canadian Aviation Regulationsnot specifically addressed in this certificate.

Explanatory Note

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes the certificate holder to transport detonating cord under the Explosives Packing Instruction EP39 of the Standard CGSB-43.151-2012, "Packaging, handling, offering for transport and transport of Explosives (Class 1)", October 2012, without having to plug or seal the ends of the detonating cord as required by Special Packing Provision PP71 of the same standard. The product characteristics and the packaging method ensure that no explosive substance will come loose inside the boxes.
