CONDITIONS

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes CCR Solutions Inc., to handle, offer for transport or transport, and authorizes any person to handle or transport on behalf of the certificate holder, by cargo aircraft, dangerous goods that are UN3480, LITHIUM ION BATTERIES (including lithium ion polymer batteries), Class 9, in accordance with Special Provision A88 of the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air, 2017-2018 Edition, included by reference in section 12.1 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, if:

(a) each cell has been determined to meet the criteria for assignment to Class 9 on the basis of tests carried out in accordance with the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods - Manual of Tests and Criteria, Part III, subsection 38.3;

(b) each battery or battery assembly has not been tested in accordance with the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods - Manual of Tests and Criteria, Part III, subsection 38.3, and therefore, do not meet the inclusion criteria for Class 9;

(c) the dangerous goods are:

(i) production runs consisting of not more than 100 lithium cells and batteries, or

(ii) pre-production prototypes of lithium cells and batteries;

(d) each cell or battery incorporates a safety venting device or is designed to preclude a violent rupture under normal conditions of transport;

(e) each cell or battery is equipped with an effective means of preventing external short circuits;

(f) each battery containing cells or series of cells connected in parallel is equipped with effective means as necessary to prevent dangerous reverse current flow (e.g., diodes, fuses, etc.);

(g) the cells or batteries are packaged in accordance with Packing Instruction 910 of the Supplement to the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air, 2017-2018 Edition;

(h) the battery or battery assembly, as prepared for transport, may have a gross mass exceeding 35 kg;

(i) a paper or electronic copy of this Equivalency Certificate accompanies the dangerous goods; and

(j) the shipping document that accompanies the dangerous goods includes the following information legibly and indelibly printed:

"Equivalency Certificate No. SA 12397"

Note: The issuance of this Equivalency Certificate in no way reduces the certificate holder's responsibility to comply with any other requirements of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, and the Canadian Aviation Regulationsnot specifically addressed in this certificate.
