CONDITIONS

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes VWR International LLC to handle, offer for transport or transport, and authorizes any person to handle or transport on behalf of the certificate holder, by road vehicle, dangerous goods that are UN2291, LEAD COMPOUND, SOLUBLE, N.O.S., Class 6.1, Packing Group III, in a manner that does not comply with clause 3.5(1)(c)(ii)(A) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, under the following conditions:

(a) despite the absence of number 16 in column 5 of schedule 1 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the technical name "Lead Monoxide" is included, in parentheses, immediately after the shipping name on the shipping document;

(b) in addition to the requirements of Part 6 (Training) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the certificate holder must ensure that the personnel handling, offering for transport or transporting the dangerous goods is trained in regards to the conditions of this Equivalency Certificate;

(c) the shipping document that accompanies the dangerous goods includes the following information legibly and indelibly marked:

"Equivalency Certificate No. SH 12311"

Note: The issuance of this Equivalency Certificate in no way reduces the certificate holder's responsibility to comply with any other requirements of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, and the Canadian Aviation Regulationsnot specifically addressed in this certificate.

Explanatory Note

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes the certificate holder to indicate, immediately after the shipping name on the shipping document, the technical name, in parentheses, of at least one of the most dangerous substances that predominantly contributes to the hazard or hazards posed by the dangerous goods. The dangerous goods UN2291, LEAD COMPOUND, SOLUBLE, N.O.S., Class 6.1, Packing Group III, should be subject to special provision 16 in column 5 of schedule 1 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations. It is expected that Special Provision 16 will be added to column 5 of schedule 1 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations for dangerous goods UN2291, in a future amendment to the regulations.
