Explanatory Note

This Equivalency Certificate allows the certificate holder to repair tanks by field welding in a manner that complies with Clause 7.5.6 of CSA B620-14 instead of Clause 7.5.6 of CSA B620-09, "Highway tanks and TC portable tanks for the transportation of dangerous goods", January 2009. The revised field welding requirements in CSA B620-14 have been accepted by the CSA B620 Technical Committee and published in January 2014. Field welding is necessary to repair tanks in remote locations where access to repair facilities is limited.
