CONDITIONS

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes A.V.W. Inc., doing business as Max Pro, to handle, offer for transport and transport, by road vehicle, railway vehicle or by ship on a domestic voyage, dangerous goods that are UN1030, 1,1‑Difluoroethane, Class 2.1, in a manner that does not comply with the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, if:

(a) the dangerous goods are handled, offered for transport and transported as limited quantities in accordance with the requirements of section 1.17 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations;

(b) in addition to the requirements referred to in condition (a) of this certificate, the dangerous goods are contained in a means of containment that is in compliance with the requirements of section 5.11 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations and the capacity of each means of containment is less than or equal to 0.5 L;

CONDITIONS

(c) the Equivalency Certificate number "SU 12300" is visibly and legibly marked on the outer means of containment.

Note: The issuance of this Equivalency Certificate in no way reduces the certificate holder's responsibility to comply with any other requirements of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, and the Canadian Aviation Regulationsnot specifically addressed in this certificate.

Explanatory Note

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes the certificate holder to handle, offer for transport and transport UN1030, 1,1‑Difluoroethane, Class 2.1, as a limited quantity when using a 0.5 L or less standardized aerosol container. The definition of "aerosol container" in US DOT 49 CFR is different from the definition in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations. Under US DOT 49 CFR, an aerosol container used to expel a gas cannot be classified as UN1950. This Equivalency Certificate applies to consumer commodities imported from the United States.
