Explanatory Note

This Equivalency Certificate allows the applicant to ship PCB's in electrical equipment that is not in compliance with the packaging standards. The certificate holder is also exempted from the requirements of dangerous goods safety marks and documentation. Compliance with the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations would require the applicant to drain the oil from the electricalequipment under field conditions that would increase the risk of a spill. The certificate holder has been transporting this type of equipment for many years in a manner that reflects the conditions outlined in this certificate.
