CONDITIONS

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes Stainless Steel Technology, to design, manufacture, sell, offer for sale, deliver, or distribute in Canada, means of containment used or intended to be used in importing, offering for transport, handling, or transporting dangerous goods and authorizes any person to handle, offer for transport or transport, by road vehicle, dangerous goods in a manner that does not comply with subsection 5.1(2) and subparagraph 5.14(1)(a)(ii) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, if:

(a) the TC423 tanks are designed and manufactured in accordance with the requirements of CSA Standard B620-09, "Highway tanks and TC portable tanks for the transportation of dangerous goods", January 2009, cited in the rest of this certificate as CSA Standard B620-09, except for Clause 5.10.4.1 of CSA Standard B620-09;

(b) the requirements of Clause 5.10.4.1 of CSA Standard B620-14, "Highway tanks and TC portable tanks for the transportation of dangerous goods", January 2014, are respected; and

CONDITIONS

(c) a paper or electronic copy of this Equivalency Certificate accompanies the dangerous goods at all times.

Note: The issuance of this Equivalency Certificate in no way reduces the certificate holder's responsibility to comply with any other requirements of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, and the Canadian Aviation Regulationsnot specifically addressed in this certificate.

Explanatory Note

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes Stainless Steel Technology to manufacture TC423 tanks without insulation systems, and authorizes any person to handle, offer for transport or transport, dangerous goods in these tanks. Clause 5.10.4.1 of CSA Standard B620-14, "Highway tanks and TC portable tanks for the transportation of dangerous goods", January 2014, states that an insulation system is optional on TC423 tanks. It is expected that CSA Standard B620-14 will be adopted in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations by the end of the year.
