CONDITIONS

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes Bellatrix Exploration Ltd., to handle, offer for transport or transport and authorizes any person to handle or transport on behalf of the certificate holder, by road vehicle, dangerous goods that are:

  • UN1001, Acetylene, dissolved, Class 2.1,
  • UN1006, Argon, compressed, Class 2.2,
  • UN1046, Helium, compressed, Class 2.2,
  • UN1060, Methylacetylene and propadiene mixture, stabilized, Class 2.1,
  • UN 1066, Nitrogen, compressed, Class 2.2,
  • UN1072, Oxygen, compressed, Class 2.2(5.1), or
  • UN1978, Propane, Class 2.1,

in a manner that does not comply with Part 3 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, if:

(a) the dangerous goods are contained in no more than 5 small means of containment;

CONDITIONS

(b) the gross mass of the dangerous goods is less than or equal to 500 kg;

(c) the safety marks required for the dangerous goods pursuant to Part 4 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations are displayed on the small means of containment;

(d) the means of containment are transported in a storage compartment or cabinet, on which the safety marks required pursuant to sections 4.10 to 4.12 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, are displayed and visible from outside the road vehicle;

(e) in addition to the requirements of Part 6 (Training) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the certificate holder ensures that the personnel handling, offering for transport or transporting the dangerous goods is trained in regards to the conditions of this Equivalency Certificate; and

(f) a paper or electronic copy of this Equivalency Certificate accompanies the dangerous goods.

Note: The issuance of this Equivalency Certificate in no way reduces the certificate holder's responsibility to comply with any other requirements of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, and the Canadian Aviation Regulationsnot specifically addressed in this certificate.

Explanatory Note

The certificate holder carries numerous cylinders containing gases (Class 2.1 and 2.2) within storage compartments or cabinets on trucks. This Equivalency Certificate authorizes them to transport the dangerous goods without complying with Part 3 (Documentation) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations and to label the storage compartment or cabinet where the cylinders themselves are not visible from outside the vehicle.
