Explanatory Note

The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations do not clearly state that a shrink-wrapped or stretch-wrapped tray is considered a means of containment. This Equivalency Certificate validates that a shrink-wrapped or stretch-wrapped tray is a suitable outer means of containment for the purpose of section 1.17. This clarification is aligned with the 18th Edition of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods.
