CONDITIONS

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes Air Tindi Ltd., to handle, offer for transport or transport, by cargo aircraft, dangerous goods that are UN1978, PROPANE, Class 2.1, or UN1075, LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GASES, Class 2.1, in a manner that does not comply with subsection 12.1(2) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, if:

(a) the dangerous goods are handled and transported in compliance with section 12.9 "Limited Access" of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, except for subparagraph 12.9(10)(b)(i);

(b) the dangerous goods are contained in a means of containment that complies with Part 5 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations;

(c) the dangerous goods are contained in a means of containment that has a capacity less than or equal to 450 L;

(d) the means of containment is secured in an upright position or in as near an upright position as possible to prevent shifting and overturning;

CONDITIONS

(e) the means and methods of securement do not cause damage or deformation to the means of containment, valves, valve protection devices, or other accessories;

(f) the air operator ensures that the personnel handling and transporting the dangerous goods is trained in regards to the conditions of this Equivalency Certificate;

(g) a paper or electronic copy of this Equivalency Certificate accompanies the dangerous goods.

Note: The issuance of this Equivalency Certificate in no way reduces the certificate holder's responsibility to comply with any other requirements of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, and the Canadian Aviation Regulationsnot specifically addressed in this certificate.

Explanatory Note

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes the transportation of propane on a cargo aircraft in quantities greater than what is prescribed by regulations. The dangerous goods are transported in compliance with section 12.9 - Limited Access of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations.
