CONDITIONS

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, to handle, offer for transport or transport, by road vehicle, dangerous goods of class 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8, and 9 in a manner that does not comply with Part 3 (Documentation) and Part 4 (Dangerous Goods Safety Marks) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, under the following conditions:

(a) the dangerous goods are contained in the supplier's original packaging;

(b) the dangerous goods are transported within a radius of less than one kilometre on the certificate holder's property;

(c) the gross mass of all dangerous goods transported on the road vehicle is less than or equal to 150 kg;

(d) the person transporting the dangerous goods is trained in accordance with Part 6 (Training) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations;

(e) in addition to the requirements of Part 6 (Training) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the certificate holder ensures that the personnel handling, offering for transport or transporting the dangerous goods is trained in regards to the conditions of this Equivalency Certificate;

CONDITIONS

(f) in the event of an accidental release of dangerous goods from a means of containment, the person who has possession of the dangerous goods at the time of the accidental release makes a report as per Part 8 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations;

(g) a paper or electronic copy of this Equivalency Certificate accompanies the dangerous goods.

Note: The issuance of this Equivalency Certificate in no way reduces the certificate holder's responsibility to comply with any other requirements of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, and the Canadian Aviation Regulationsnot specifically addressed in this certificate.

Explanatory Note

This Equivalency Certificate authorizes the certificate holder to transport dangerous goods without complying with the documentation and dangerous goods safety marks requirements. The dangerous goods are contained in the supplier's original packaging and are transported on the property of the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières within a radius of less than one kilometre.
